Kalamazoo, Michigan, will be the site of another thrilling night of MACtion, as our Miami University RedHawks (12-13, 6-6 in MAC play) will battle the Western Michigan Broncos (8-17, 5-7 in MAC play).
The RedHawks are coming off a dominant 80-59 victory against Ball State University at Millett, and will be looking to use that momentum to propel them to another win on the season with only six games remaining before the MAC tournament in Cleveland.
Meanwhile, the Broncos have lost their last six games, including their most recent loss at the hands of the Central Michigan University Chippewas 69-42.
The RedHawks and Broncos have already met once this season at Millett, with the RedHawks losing 83-74. Rebounding proved to be an issue for the RedHawks that day, as they only managed 27 rebounds to the Broncos’ 40, as well as production from their starters, who only scored 34 points on the night. If the RedHawks want to win tonight, they will surely need greater production on both of those fronts.
The Broncos were led that day by their guard play, with sophomore Seth Hubbard scoring 17 points and junior B. Artis White pitching in 16.
The RedHawks were led by senior center Anderson Mirambeaux with 20 points and senior forward Bryce Bultman with 15.
The RedHawks will need to finish in the top eight in the MAC to qualify for the conference tournament. They currently sit at seventh, so these next six games will be crucial, especially considering how tight spots four through eight currently are, with all five teams being within a single game of each other.
The game will tip off at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. Miami will enter the contest with a 57.3% chance of victory, according to ESPN analytics. With how tight the last few spots in the MAC tournament are, RedHawks fans can be sure to expect a dog fight on both ends.
